Typo Tuesday: Expressions of the Alphabet

Written by Sarah Cook | Sep 15, 2013 2:00:00 PM

Amsterdam-based freelancer Chiara Vercesi is not afraid to add personality to her typography. With such a variety of faces and creatures, each letter brings a new emotion. Some are happy, some are angry and some are monsters. The type faces morph into creatures depending on the shape of the letter, ranging from animals to scholarly and professional characters.

Chiara Vercesi doesn't just do typography, she also is a game designer, both for video and board. Her website also has some fantastic illustrations that are worth exploring. The typeface we are featuring here is called GLO, and they were created for a group called Lichi Blue Company.

She writes on her Behance page that "My professional development is a direct result of my traditional art education mixed with modern digital illustration techniques, which gives me the ability to provide an in-depth look and feel to a project."

In April, Headjam featured another Typo Tuesday with faces from designer Tiago Pinto, and a lively Typo Tuesday was also featured in March by Vesa Sammalisto. We love it how similar ideas can produce incredibly different typography, depending on the creative. Which one is your favourite?
