Headjam is always on the hunt for great new typography, and students often create amazing work - Emraan Mayow's "Sanotra" typeface is an example. Check out these themed variations on traditional typography, they contain slashes of tribal drive that moves at angles across upper case lettering, reminding us of the importance of being a student of history. ## "... interspersed with geometric figures derived from ancient forms". The characters are interspersed with geometric figures derived from ancient forms, and icons that act as the fulcrum for dynamic and clearly defined expressions of each form. Here, the archaic is made hip by Emraan Mayow who tells us a story as old as human language whilst paying homage to rappers and indigenous peoples of North America - check out  [Behance](https://www.behance.net/gallery/10657871/SANOTRA-TYPEFACE) for more, and watch this space. #tags: #typography #emraanmayow #uk #unitedkingdom #typotuesday #headjamcreative #newcastlecreative ![Emraan Mayow's Ancient Hip](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/hubfs/Headjam%20May2018/Images/Sanotra-08.gif) ![Emraan Mayow's Ancient Hip](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/hubfs/Headjam%20May2018/Images/Sanotra-07.gif) ![Emraan Mayow's Ancient Hip](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/hubfs/Headjam%20May2018/Images/Sanotra-06.jpg) ![Emraan Mayow's Ancient Hip](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/hubfs/Headjam%20May2018/Images/Sanotra-04.jpg) ![Emraan Mayow's Ancient Hip](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/hubfs/Headjam%20May2018/Images/Sanotra-09.gif) ![Emraan Mayow's Ancient Hip](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/hubfs/Headjam%20May2018/Images/Sanotra-01.jpg) ![Emraan Mayow's Ancient Hip](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/hubfs/Headjam%20May2018/Images/Sanotra-10.gif) ![Emraan Mayow's Ancient Hip](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/hubfs/Headjam%20May2018/Images/Sanotra-03.jpg) ## If you have a project in mind or would like to work with us, send us a message. ## [![Headjam’s Maya 2016 Render Farm](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/Headjam%20May2018/Images/Josh_The_Bruce_Headjam.jpg?width=1360&height=900&upsize=true&upscale=true&name=Josh_The_Bruce_Headjam.jpg) Headjam’s Maya 2016 Render Farm](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/spreadable/headjam-s-maya-2016-render-farm) [Animation](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/spreadable/tag/animation) · [Digital](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/spreadable/tag/digital) ## [![Typo Tuesday: Heady Thread](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/PeterCrawley_001.jpg?width=1360&height=900&upsize=true&upscale=true&name=PeterCrawley_001.jpg) Typo Tuesday: Heady Thread](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/spreadable/typo-tuesday-heady-thread) [Creative](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/spreadable/tag/creative) · [Crafts](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/spreadable/tag/crafts) · [Inspiration](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/spreadable/tag/inspiration) · [Typography](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/spreadable/tag/typography) ## [![Old School: Part 3 French Trademarks](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/trade_mark_001.jpg?width=1360&height=900&upsize=true&upscale=true&name=trade_mark_001.jpg) Old School: Part 3 French Trademarks](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/spreadable/old-school-part-3-french-trademarks) [Old school](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/spreadable/tag/old-school) · [Photography](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/spreadable/tag/photography) · [Inspiration](https://spreadable.headjam.com.au/spreadable/tag/inspiration) Have an idea in mind?
